New guy

Hello all,

I am a current owner of a 1991 Toyota Celica GT, and very soon I'm looking at changing car, since my Celica is on a Dutch plate (I'm a Dutch guy, but recently moved to Surrey). I keep getting tempted by Alfa 156s and 147s (and 8Cs, but those are slightly out of my budget ). Now, I'm used to Toyota reliability, so should I? Do recent Alfas still have those infamous electrical gremlins?

Re: New guy

welcome to AO dude...

a well maintained Alfa is no more unreliable than any other car...especially the newer ones....just make sure when you looking at one that it has a full service history, preferably by a main dealer or reputable indie...and that it has had a cambelt and tensioner change every 36k or 3 years, whichever is sooner....keys are expensive to get cut, so make sure it has both sets ...

nothing will put a smile on ur face like an Alfa does

happy hunting

Don't know about that, Celica GT4s and Lotus Elises do that as well.

Considering the broken down Golf I just saw, that doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

Re: New guy

lynnb is soooooo right. 3 months on and I still grin when I get in my 147.

No electrical gremlins with my car (51 2002 plate) to date - touch wood.

Doh. I've done it now!
