I am very new here but wondered if I was alone in this form of misfortune.
I have a 147 TI lots of torques and about 100K on the clock when the clutch began to get heavy. 6 weeks ago the seals in the master cylinder went, on the M62 in a traffic jam. Being ancient and having learned to drive on vehicles with crash boxes I managed to get to where I was going and get back to my trusty local workshop, Brackenhill Auto Engineers, Ackworth Wakefield.
48 hours later I had the cart back on the road with a replacement master cylinder (MC) fitted and bled and working fine, but wait, no cruise control. Clutch cancellation switch missing.
Cutting to the chase 6 weeks later, £700 worse off (new clutch new MC) I am in the same position, I can't de-clutch because the MC seals have failed.
I am behind the times, apparently there is hardly a motor part ever made that someone else is making a copy of. My MC was a copy or none Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and about as much good as a candy floss door knocker.
Anyone else have this problem?
