Red paint fading

Are there any remedies/fixes/workarounds for areas of alfa red that have faded to less than brilliant?

Re: Red paint fading

Cutting polish, be gentle and careful, elbow grease and patience. enjoy!!! (Been there mate)

And a very good polish after, and every week for the next 10 at least.

Re: Red paint fading

Cutting polish didn't work on my QV as the Alfa Red was laquered. the only way is to respray the affected panels. If you rubbed off the laquer you could probably polish it but that would be very hard work.

What Symon Sez...it may be lacquered, try a rubbing with a clean cloth and bit of polish..if it turns red you're sorted , if it stays clean(ish) then you're nakkered.

Hi and welcome.

I had this problem with my 77 spider, couldn't get the red to shine, wish I had known about this site then. Good luck with your car.

Re: Red paint fading

You just have to polish it regularly to stop it from fading, however, once it begins to go I think you need a respray
