Returning after many years away
What is it about these beautiful, yet idiosyncratic, machines? It all started in 1981, when my Mum & Dad purchased a 1977 Alfasud 1200 Ti. A wonderful machine, that served them very badly for a few years. In the end it was just left to gather dust on the drive, until it was purchased by a friend of mine who nursed it back to health and enjoyed it for a couple of years. Nonetheless, the seed had been sown and I embarked on a period of Alfa ownership, which included 2 x Alfasud ti, 2 x Alfasud Sprint, 1 x Alfetta GTV, 1 x Guilietta & 1 x Alfetta. All are long gone and some are sadly missed, particularly Black 'Sud ti YOT 839V & Ivory 'Sud Sprint Veloce RLX 770W (if anyone knows if these still exist I would love to know!!!). Anyway, skip 25 ish years and, after a rush of blood to the head, I have a beautiful 147 JTDm 16v mjet sitting on the drive. Had it just under 2 weeks and oil becomes a regular feature on the drive & already I have the engine light on with a Motor Control System Failure message! Bring it on!!! The Jap cars I've owned never demanded such attention, but were not as rewarding to drive! So anyway that's my story, I'm sure I'll be posting loads on here as well as scouring many forums to keep my new obsession running sweetly. I'd love to get to know enthusiasts locally. Anyway a big HI!!!!!
