Newbie has new bearing on 156

Hi folks, thought its about time I said Hi.
I am Jon from near Derby, Ive got a 156 2.0TS Selespeed on a 1999 T plate.
Only had the machine 4 months but love it.
Just had a passenger side front wheel bearing replaced at ALFA in Derby and they charged £178 in total, I thought that was ok, what do you guys think? I got a courtesey car and they topped my oil up, I am pleased with the job as yet.
My 156 has done 68k now, should I be worried about the Selespeed box? or do they do plenty more miles yet?

Cheers folks and hello again.

Re: Newbie has new bearing on 156

Hi Jon

Welcome to AO

The box is the same as the manual 5 speeder with the selespeed unit taking care of shifting - if there are no funny noises/habits it should last as long as any other box. Enjoy it bud

Welcome....I'd be more worried about the belts and tensioners, have they been done?

Get used to the odd ton/ton-half/double-ton escaping from your wallet - even with a good local indy.

Wrinx is right - if you're not sure about the belts+ then get them sorted.

Best of luck!!!!
