JERUSALEM ALFAS say hi

Hey guys,

just subscribed to the forum, I hope to enjoy my membership here!

I live in Jerusalem, I own three alfas as follows:

SPRINT 1.7 1988
164 SUPER 1994
147 2.0 2002

I have always loved Alfas and owned them, I always suffer from all the problems and expenditures!! but as Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear would put it (as a theory of his) .......

"YOU CANNOT BE A REAL PETROL HEAD UNLESS YOU HAVE OWNED AN ALFA AT ONE POINT OF YOUR LIFE!!!"

And I definately agree!

I actually race my Sprint in our new National Palestinian Race!!!
RESULTS for 2005?? 3rd place overall (1st was a BMW 320is ... 2nd was a TT Quattro), oh, and I didnt contribute in one of the races, which made me lose points otherwise, i would have wiped their asses!
Currently for 2006, FIRST race results: I was in 1st place, two races to go! After tomorrow we are having the second race... I will let you know what the results are!! My car is basically stock (except for the following mods: 16" LENSO wheels w/ 195/45/16 tyres, OMP lowering KIT, OMP strut upper brace, OMP Brakes, K&N inbox filter, NESPORT exhaust, MOMO wheel, and other simple cosmetics...)

My 164 is a 1994 3.0 24v SUPER, and it is super, except of course for all the flaws! electrical problems here and there, noises from the front right side (which we could never solve... for some reason), faulty a/c compressor.. but other than that, it is great (for the time being!) some mods I have on it are as follows: 17" OZ, 225/45/17, Eibach Lowering KIT, Apexi huuuge exhaust muffler, K&N HUUUGE filter... SOUNDS BETTER THAN A FERRARI.... thats the only reason why I still have it!!!

Then there is my wife's 147, 2.0 TS, SELESPEED, 3drs, sunroof, leather int., Cruise control, ... pretty much fully loaded! and I love it... (fishing for a GTA now)

I will be posting some pictures soon!

Nice to meet you guys, oh and please wish me luck on Friday ... the race i.e.

Welcome to AO

Always loved the Sprint - I used to have a 1.7 Sprint with Zender kit, lowered etc etc - drove it on the track a few times and it made a very good track car.

BTW you used to be able to get a stiffer top mount for the damper / suspension - this gave much better turn-in and really made a difference on the track

Re: JERUSALEM ALFAS say hi

Hi Guys! Thanks for the welcoming.. I will be posting some pictures very soon as soon as i find my way in the site!

Friday race: 3rd overall! (poduim is ok)... not bad, considering the circumstances!!! I hoped for better results but thats ok! Wasn't the Sprint's fault, on the contrary it did its job just great, the car was like FIRE as we say here :-) it was fast like a rocket, but in the sharp turns it understeered... but really it was me, i got a bit distracted!! sh*t!! pictures to be posted soon also...

I get a lot of understeer though in the tight turns!! does anyone know what I can do to cure that? I know a set of better tyres would help!! but maybe there's more! PASCS mentioned something about the the stiffer top mounts, does that really make a difference? and does anyone know where I can get them from??

OH and does anyone know how can i get more power from that 1.7 8v engine? I have the standard WEBER carbs on it...

I will try to post some picts!

Thanks guys!

Re: JERUSALEM ALFAS say hi

3rd overall - that pretty good - congrats.

I bought the top mounts from BLS in Lincoln, England. They used to do lots of competition stuff for Alfas including suspension, engine, brakes, gearbox etc.

Unfortunately I dont have their phone number any more but maybe someone on here has it......
