Alfa Specialist.

Does anybody know of a good Alfa specialist in Shropshire or West Midlands?

I have just go a quote from Hylton's in Shrewsbury for both front top suspension arms for 353 inc vat, is this good?

So far I have not been impressed with Hylton and I am concerned they are finding more work then needs doing?

Cheers

Steve

Re: Alfa Specialist.

If Wrexham isn't too far I would recommend highly Allitalia (01978 757588)

Re: Alfa Specialist.

There is a Lancia / Alfa specialist on the Bewdley to Cleobury road. Have been there years and quote good prices. Sorry don't know the name.

Hi Steve,

I have heard that the Solihull franchised Alfa Garage is quite good (But it will remains at Alfa UK shocking prices!). Further in my area (East midlands), avoid at any costs the Leicester Franchise. They are rude and helpless.

Asking the same question in a previous thread, I have been advised to try an independent Alfa specialist called Intaservices:

Unit 16 Vulcan Rd, Leicester, LE5 3EA - 0116 251 0899

Apparently they are genuine enthusiasts, know their subject and apply reasonable prices.

I have not managed to try them but it may be worth for you to give a go, even if Leicester is quite far from Shropshire

All the Best in any case,

Fabrice

Re: Alfa Specialist.

Was going to post the same question. Good thing I did a search first!

Options available for us appear to be (in order of proximity not preference);

1) Hylton (Alfa Authorised)
2) Alfarestorations - Wem (12 miles)
3) AllItalia - Wrexham (33 miles)
4) WAD - Wolverhampton (35 miles)

I had been thinking of trying Hylton. Certainly planned to get a price in advance of the 60K service but like the idea of having a local spares outlet at least, even if I don't use them for servicing!

WAD and AllItalia both come highly recommended (from people like Gary) but the logistics of getting the car there are a distinct negative. Alfarestorations is only 12 miles away but, again, logistics of getting the car there have to be considered. Hylton is the only 'easy' option but I'm not convinced that it's the 'best' option.

Let me know how you get on. BTW "Norbert" is another local who may have different experiences.

Please let me know if I've missed any others off the list guys. I've been looking within a 40 mile radius of SY2 and don't really want to go that far!

Chap at work has been using WAD recently and again yesterday, He can't seem to say enough about them and has offered me a lift to work if I use them for some checks later this month.
