Willowway

I recently acquired a 1977 Alfa Romeo Spyder. It seems to be in great shape, however, I would very much appreciate any advice concerning items/issues that I should watch for.
Thank you.

Re: Willowway [77 Spyder]

My 77 Spyder has a fuel injected engine and the word "INIEZIONE" in chrome letters on the back. I did not get any manuals so I have very little info about the car. I believe it has a 2.0L engine. Has anyone got specific info on this model?

Re: Willowway

Willowway,

Let's get the basic lessons in early.

#1. It's spIder.

#2. You have a car with a SPICA (mechanical) fuel injection system. That means you've got a North American car.

#3. As you might guess, this board is international. You need to tell us where you are located (roughly, a country will do) so we can tailor advice accordingly. No we can't assume because you drive a SPICA car you're in North America because Europeans have been re-importing cars.

Welcome aboard.

Re: Willowway [77 Spyder]

Thanks for the info. I now know that INIEZIONE is Italian for something like "injection".
We are located in beautiful downtown Comox on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.
The car is in excellent condition but I am arranging to clean up some oil leaks. In that regard, the plan is to replace the head gasket and, while doing that have a look at valves and rings even though the engine runs strong.
It was great to hear from you! Please pass on any advice.
Thanks again.
