Help jacking points

hi,
I recently became the proud owner of a GTV. I have had it a month now and really pleased with it. A couple of questions i need help with at the moment are ; are the jacking points those square turret things with a hole in them? Do you need a special jack ? My trolley jack does not fit under the car - doh. I guess you cant use a normal jack that fit on the sills as i cant see any reinforced sill areas. (some oaf has tried this method previously becase one of the seams in distorted already) Anyway the reason i wanted to jack up the car is to see where the oil filter is. I want to fit an oil pressure gauge and the sender plate fits between it and the block, so i wanted to check out the space avilable. Can anyone tell me where the sender that works the oil light in the dash can be found ?

Yes.. the turrets suit the scissor jack that normally lives in the boot (unless you have the foam/electric pump set-up).

The jack has a round plate with a pimple on it, that fits in the hole.

Don't use the sills.

The 155 and 33 jacks (among others?) are the same and if you want one the breakers must have a few lying about. Otherwise I use a regular trolley jack.. you have to get one with a loooow saddle, or park the wheels on the jacking side on a plank, so you can get the jack under the skirts.

hi, thanks very much for the info.
so simple , hy didnt i think of driving up onto some thing to raise the car an inch. My trolley jack will then fit underneath the sills.
