Brera SV6

Hello to forum members

Hi, everyone.
I'm a new member to the forum, and hope that your knowledge and experiences, as mine, can be helpful to the membership.
I drive a Brera 2.2 JTS SV, in Alfa silver. It's a standard model without any options, and that's another story. But so far, let's say, ownership has been an interesting experience.
Anyway, I'll post some of my experiences over the next weeks.

Re: Hello to forum members

Welcome...

Another brera Owner - hope what problems you are having are resolvable as she's a gorgeous car and the silver really suit her - mine seems to be going well - the odd niggle but nothing that was not to be expected with a new model car....

1) slight mismould on the window trim
2) diamond finish alloy stained (too much laquer on one spoke).
3) passenger seat belt buckle knocks against transmission tunnel

All being dealt with by the dealer this week..

I see you're in warrington - which dealer are you using now Caledonia is closing I'd reccomend
Mangoletsi in Allostock (on the A50) - I assume you've bought it through Caledonia.?

Re: Hello to forum members

Hi everyone, thanks for making me feel welcome already.
I did not buy the car from Caledonia as I am well aware of their reputation, and they will not have the franchise from September, as I have been told.
I bought the car from Mangoletsi but when I collected the car, the front splitter had been damaged in two places by some idiot driving the car off the transporter. They had not noticed it, which says something for the standard of PDI, and it had to be resprayed. Not a good start. It gets worse. Their is a knocking sound from the driveshaft which needs to be removed and replaced, and the clutch has about of inch of play in it, so a new master cylinder will be fitted. All these jobs are being done next week. Some other minor irritations on delivery, such as front foglight surround not securely attached, brushed aluminium console had to be replaced due to abrasive finish around the central locking switch, and the other thing that no-one seems to be able to answer, including Alfa GB, is the issue of Alfa brake caliper covers which the brochure states is fitted to both 3.2 and 2.2 litre cars, but are not on mine. You would have thought Alfa GB would know but the dealership are still struggling to answer this question. Mangoletsi are also attempting to find out about Ipod connectivity for the Brera but nothing to report as yet. Not been a good start but I love the car, its looks set it apart from the all the other premium brand lookalikes. Don't know if anyone else had has similar problems but give Mangoletsi their due, they have been very helpful and feel rather embarassed by these events.
I've attached a picture of the car.
