Hello, I'm a newbie to this Forum

Hi, I have been refering to this forum for a little while but now need some serious advice.

I have been a past 105 GTV owner having my first one about 1973. A 1750 GTV which I remembered being a fine set of wheels which had excellent power and handling. I only had if for 6 - 9 months, sold it to an old guy who let it rot away I think.

Always had a hankering for another and when I saw a 2000 GTV advertised I went for a look and bought it on the spot. WRONG move

Basically paid a dealer over the value. Kept it for about 2 years but stopped going out in it becuase I have taken to other big boys toys - RC Helicopters . These take up most of my spare time. Managed to sell it to an Arab, over the phone, he never even looked at it - just sent someone to collect it. He knew the value better than I had so I made a loss but not too serious.

However, not long after getting the GTV I converted my normal road car to a 156 Sportwagon 2.5V6. Loverly .... but as I was doing (still am) 360 - 400 mile per week it was using too much juice for my liking so I swapped for a 2.4JTD version, 15 months old. It is now 4 years old, done 68k and has just failed the MOT on scrubbed front tyres and a 12" crack in the far left lower corner of the windscreen

So, I will search this forum for some advice on suspension upgrades or post a query. Looking forward to all the advice. Cheers.

Jerry

Well Happy Re: Hello, I'm a newbie to this Forum

Welcome to the forum. Funny I had a 156 TS and the windscreen went in the same place.

Re: Hello, I'm a newbie to this Forum

Thanks for the welome's guys.

I have been looking at the suspension upgrade advice. Interesting. Also contacted Kevin at EB and found he recommends against bothering to fit Powerflex on the front - does not make much difference and is a tricky job at home!! But on the back is a good job, makes a noticable difference.

Think I might go for the RHB suspension kit but I need the one for the self leveling rear suspenders too.

MOT station also failed me on headlight alignment - too high and they want 15 to adjust them I don't think so. Did it myself in front of garage door. Anyone know what the white adjuster does??

Cheers
