S4 conversion help

I have an '92 S4 with a Lombarda conversion & a wobble on the steering

can anyone tell me the difference between all the conversions (i.e. Bell and Colville in Guildford, Surrey & Seaking Engineering) - I'm trying to sell & can't with the wobble.

Re: S4 conversion help

Hi there, you might be better off posting your message in the Classic Alfas forum....all I know is Bell & Colville sent their cars up to a bloke in Hull for RHD conversions....also, steering is worm & roller I believe - sometimes the 'box' needs tightening. Give this guy a ring: www.ianellisalfas.co.uk - he knows his chips

Re: S4 conversion help

Hello,
The chap in Hull is/was called David Ellison. We bought lots of cars from him during "the S4 years". He used to get them from places in Europe and then convert them and sell them to Alfa specialists.
The Seaking conversion was the official Alfa UK conversion and cost quite a lot of money from memory. Seaking conversions are identified by a small plaque in the drivers door shut. I do not know who did the Lombarda conversions, unfortunatly the chap who owned Lombarda when your Spider was new passed away a few years ago.
Have you tried the obvious wheel balancing?! If they are in balance you might find a wheel rim is out of shape.
James.
