166 handbrake issue

Anyone had problems getting 166 through MOT due to low handbrake efficiency?

The car I知 hoping to buy, a 2.0 TS, has failed several times for that reason, even after having new calipers, discs, cable and pads. Footbrake is apparently OK, and it holds well on a steep hill, I知 told. As a caravanner, naturally I知 a little concerned.

Apparently another testing station put it on their rolling road and said they would pass it.

I知 told that this is a recognised problem with this car, and am thinking again about buying one at all.

I知 now in a bit of a quandary, particularly with a view to what could happen at next year痴 MOT. Whether bedding in of new pads etc would enable it to sail through next time is, of course, open to question.

Any opinions/experiences on this matter, please?
