Alfa Romeo 166

Hello Everyone from Runcoach

Hi everyone

Joyous greetings from a new Alfa owner. I have just bought an X Reg166 2.0 TSpark [basic package] in glorious red in seemingly great condition and my first days of ownership are extremely promising. The driving comfort is very good, the car very responsive, the steering and handling extremely accurate and the engine and exhaust note under acceleration 'to die for'.

I hope it will not make me an immediate outcast but because my mileage is over 40k per year, i intend to have the 166 converted to LPG in about a month and am assured that there will be no power loss and the engine will run slightly quiter and cleaner. I am investing in a multi jet sequencial system by BRC and i will of course be doing a little bit for the environment whilst saving me a lot of money each year.

Most of my mileage will be fairly high speed motorway driving up and down the A1.

One of my first questions for forum old hands will be the question of a good mechanic local to either South Essex or Bedford. my car has now done 70k miles and i am sure deserves a major service and cambelt etc. change. The other issue is whether anyone has any experience of adding a CD or CD / MP3 autochanger to the basic Radio Cassette combination which is resident in my vehicle. Does it have to be an Alfa fitting or are there after market specialists that can help?

Apologies if I am breaking any protocols for my Hello but I am not an experienced forum user.

I would welcome any comments and will ask the same question on the preexisting threads if it is more appropriate.

Kindest Regards to all
