Well hello there

Hello everyone! My name is Jason and hopefully I will soon be losing my Alfa virginity!!

I am hoping to buy a second hand Alfa GT, with a budget of under 15,000.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Reading through a lot of the threads on here I am glad that I will be buying a car that invokes so much passion and excitement.

Cheers, Jason

Re: Well hello there

Hiya Jason (great name by the way )

I have just bought a 17 month old GT JTD for 14,495 and, after two weeks of owning the car, it still gives me the same grin everytime I drive it that I used to get when I drove my old 156.

Re: Well hello there

Thanks for the welcome chaps!

I have managed to find a 2004 GT JTD. It has 29000 miles on it. Full service history. Metallic black, 16 inch alloys, immaculate condition, 13 months left on the warranty.

The guy needs to sell it as he is moving to the US.

We have provisionally agreed a price of 12500

Does this sound like a good deal?

Cheers, Jason

Re: Well hello there

Sounds like a good price if the car is all in order and well looked after Mine had exactly 30,000 on the clock when I bought her.

Does it have any options fitted (Bose, parking sensors, leather etc etc. ) ?

Re: Well hello there

Hey Jason, It does not have leather, BOSE or parking sensors, but it has all the usual stuff apart from that.

I think for 12,500 though it is a good deal. The car is pristine!

I will be going for the remap and bigger 18" alloys as soon as I get my hands on it!

Pobably these wheels

I was reading the remap thread on the GT forum and have to say it sounds like a great investment!

Anything else I should consider?

Re: Well hello there

Sounds like a good deal Mine only has the leather out of that list and was a couple of grand more so you are probably getting a bargain!

I am considering a set of 18"'s too but cannot decide between the Toora 203's (which are used on the GT by Alfa) or an aftermarket wheel that has a 'look' of an Alfa wheel.

The remap day should be great and I can't wait to release a bit more power from the tractor engine Are you considering joining us if you get the GT before then? We should be getting a good group deal and, from what everyone else says, Angel do an amazing job of releaseing the extra potential from the JTD.

Re: Well hello there

I would consider joining you guys but I am based down on the south coast so the discount would probably be eaten up by the cost of driving up and a hotel!!

I will have a look at the Toora wheels!
