New MiTo Owner
I'm a new Alfa Romeo owner from the far and mythical eastern land of Romania.
Used to own a Suzuki Swift MY 2006 which I bought new as my first car in College. It was to say the very least incredibly horrid, so bad that I would actually prefer public transportation over using it.
The ride was hard but not in a precise kinda way , it was more like the wheels were attached directly to your back with no dampers. Steering was all over the place, I could wobble the wheel quite a bit without any change in the trajectory.
The gearbox was sticky when shifting and you always had to double or triple de-clutch to get into reverse.
I had the 1.3 petrol engine with 95 HP which somehow managed to do 9L/100Km and don't imagine I was driving in a sporty fashion. Had an acquaintance that also shared my blight with this model and reported that she was doing 10L/100km.
My first ever crash was ramming someone from behind ... his car I mean ... when the floor mat that came with the car somehow slipped and got stuck under my break pedal. Wasn't much of a crash but did burn the mat afterwards.
The hole bottom back panel of the car rusted away to the point that I could see the road through my floor , thankfully the Dealer did agree to fix it for free under "warranty" with what can be described ad the worst looking weld job ever.
And I shouldn't get started on the dashboard which was designed by a man who though that drawing two parallel lines is enough to define it.
Anyway thankfully I managed to sell/dump it of for 5500 Euro.
As a long time Italian car fan I just couldn't resist the MiTo's looks. I was initially going to the showroom to see the Fiat 500L but as soon as I laid my eyes on the MiTo I pretty much said **** it who needs 5 doors.
Thanks to what was called a "Black Friday" for cars last week , and I believe you can guess the day it was on , I ended up getting a new MiTo 1.4 M-Air 105 Cow Power Progression Biancospino with some extras : lumbar support , alloy wheels and winter tires for a total of : 12.060 Euro ( including taxes and so on ).
I'm now eagerly awaiting to pick up the car this Friday. Finally fulfilling my dream to be an Alfa Owner.
Will post some pictures with the car once I pick it up.
