Costs about 120-130 from dealer, you order the key via the chassis number, then have to pay to get it programmed. Its about 80 for the key 45 for the coding, thats what i paid late last year.

Welcome, by the way.

Re: Keys

Harry, you might be able to help me fiurther.
I have a seperate key fob that i use to set the alarm.
Can the key not just be copied or do i have to buy a new fob as well.
The key has no other function but to start the car.
Thanks

Re: Keys

If your alfa has the standard fit imobiliser, you will not be able to start the car unless that piece of "recognise-me" equipment is in the fob, afaik. If it's the black key - this thread might be of interest as it shows the inner bits

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...47-156-a.html?

I think someone referred to the bit I am on about as the transponder

Had this done very recently, cost a hundred and something euro from Airton in Tallaght.... beware, make sure you give them the exact chassis number, I misstranscribed a digit and it cost me a second set. Takes them about ten minutes to program the new key to the car. Also, the new ones don't have the red flashing led from the originals, and are a fair bit thicker.

Re: Keys

No. Red Key. Just use in ignition. Seperate bllue fob immobilises the car.
