Hello all I'm Quentin,
Previously I have always owned Audi and BMWs. Being a mechanic helped as they certainly are not the most reliable.
I got into a situation where my current car was deemed scrap and I needed a replacement. Diesel being the best choice due to the distance I travel to work, I began the search for a inexpensive diesel.
A good friend of mine bought an Alfa Romeo 156 2.4 10v JTD and since have helped him on a few occasions working on it, clutch being one of them. Looking at the prices of certain Audi and BMW models, I decided to look for a 156 2.4 . Time wasn't really on my side so a quick look around autotrader and eBay and found a reasonably priced one with relatively low mileage.
Long story short, I test drove it and fell in love with it almost instantly
It must be said, 3 weeks on and a seized alternator, snapped fan belt and a overly due timing belt have been an inconvenience but I am far from put off. Come Monday I'll have her ready to go again and hand over this awful Peugeot 307 hdi I have had to put up with for the past few days.
I look forward to adding any info I can to this forum and learning from others!!
