6 speed gearbox conversion for a 156 JTS

Hi gents, I live in Denmark and have been driving 156s since 2002. I currently have a 2003 156 JTS Berlina. Although it drinks less than my old 2.0TS I still consider it thirsty and its trip computer to be a liar. The problem is that the gearing is too low. I wonder if anybody has experience of fitting the 6 speed box from the V6 to a TS or JTS. I am an engineer by profession so I know the likely pitfalls, I am just interested to hear whether anybody has ever tried it.

Why a 6 speed? The final ratio is likely the same as a 5 speed. I can see on the net that there are several final ratioes for the 5 speed. A diesel is the highest ones. But You already know. Fixing a lot of gearboxes for the 145 models.

I am living on the Island of Als DK.

The only twinspark box that exists as a 6 speed is the 166 2.0 TS box.

Not sure how easy it would be to fit.

I would recommend just adding a longer gear in 5th and using that.
