Alfa Romeo 156

New 2002 Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 JTS Turismo Owner!

Just got it today.

I used to have a Vauxhall VX220 (fabulous car!) but sold that and got this car as a 'runabout' as I am now doing far fewer miles as I've got a job closer to home.

I didn't get a manual with it, so I have a few questions (point me to an FAQ if there is one!):
  1. Is there a radio on/off button, or just mute?
  2. What do the 2 lights under each of the a/c controls mean?
  3. How do I change the temp reading from F to C?
  4. There is an arrow button and an M button under the steering wheel - they both seem to reset the trip meter...?
  5. Anything I should know about the car and other features?
  6. I have turned off the annoying 80MPH warning...
  7. Does the CD player play 'backed up' CDs? I guess it won't play MP3s

Thanks.

Paul

Crazed Re: New 2002 Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 JTS Turismo Owner!

Thanks alfaholic

I would still be grateful to answers to these:

2. What do the 2 lights under each of the a/c controls mean?
4. There is an arrow button and an M button under the steering wheel - they both seem to reset the trip meter...?
5. Anything I should know about the car and other features?

I now know these:

1. Is there a radio on/off button, or just mute?
Hold the on button to turn it off.

3. How do I change the temp reading from F to C?
Press the Info button and then + and - to get to the sub menus. You can change it in there.

7. Does the CD player play 'backed up' CDs?
It does.

Re: New 2002 Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 JTS Turismo Owner!

Hi there,
Hope you're enjoying your new 156, I'm certainly enjoying mine.

The m button resets the mileage if held down for a few secs, and if given a quick push shows the outside air temperature.

The 'arrow' button actually changes the lighting level on the dashboard display, obviously only when you have the external lights on.

Not sure what you mean about the lights under the a/c controls - the three a/c controls on the centre consul each have a button which lights up, the left one is for the a/c chiller, the centre for recirculating air rather than bringing air in from outside, and the right one is for the rear screen heater. Don't know if that was the question.

Anyway, enjoy the car, enjoy the forum.
