Hi ! 156 fan here

Hi everybody,

Although I joined ages ago I've never got round to posting, I'm one of life's lurkers !

I've owned my Alfa 156 2.4 jtd 10v Veloce for about 3 years now and I love it more than anything else I've ever owned. I bought it as salvage and re-built and fully resprayed it back in 2010 (Arctic Verde - nice !) It was rear-ended and written off again in 2012 and I bought it back and re-built it again. Now she's done 147 k, the clutch is dying, the front end is knocking a ridiculous amount despite me replacing shocks,& wishbones on the last re-build. She's carrying many battle scars and I'm thinking of retiring her to the Veloce garden in the sky (after removing the sump of course - I cracked mine and had to buy a whole other 156 just to get the sump!)

I know that she's fixable but I'm looking to upgrade to a 156 2.4 jtd 20v SW Ti. I simply love the 5 cylinder engine & need the extra space at the back for the surfboards and to seal my jack russel off - (Jack Russels and momo leather are a painful combo) - haven't tried the 20v but am hungry for the extra power despite the 6 speed's critics.

Before I post in the wanted section I thought I'd better say hello and get my 10 posts in, and if anyone can help me to track down the aforementioned super-rare SW then I'd be most grateful. I've been scanning eBay for months and a few have been and gone, but at the end of the month I'm coming into some cash so will finally be in the position to move on one. There's currently one on the Alfa Workshop website but it's 7.2k ovno. It is a lovely example but probably a bit rich.

I look forward to contributing more !

Cheers from West Wales

Thanks for the welcome guys & gals !

Not sure if I'm allowed to do this, but could anyone give me any advice on the 156 SW at the following link ?

It ticks all the boxes for me but seems pretty steep considering I've seen similar Ti Sw's go for 4k with full mangoletsi history and similar mileage.

Any thoughts ?

Many thanks,
