Re: Yet another newbie breaks cover...
I had a 48,000 service (labour £111 plus VAT and parts), also replaced the timing belt, variator, both rear suspension trailing arm bushes, rear handbrake cables and one front lower suspension arm (labour £390 plus parts). Parts totalled just over £600 and oil etc £32. The total bill was (gulp) £1,390. The quality of the work was great, however, and I'd recommend Monza Sport at Ashington to anyone, they're authorised Alfa service agents and what they don't know about 156s isn't worth knowing!
If you're just having a service, I think the price was good, in fact I can't complain about the cost in relation to what was done, but it's disappointing that a lot of this needed doing on a car that's only four years old, specially as the mileage was well under 48,000.
Oh well, whoever bought an Alfa for sensible and practical reasons?
