Alfa 159 1.9 JTS

I. Will. Be. Back.

Hello fellow Alfa Romeo enthusiasts,

Last Saturday I went to try out a 159 and, as soon as I sat in it, I knew I wanted one.

It will be the third Alfa Romeo of my sequence (a 75 1.8 and a 155 2.0TS 16v were the previous ones).

I originally hail from Italy but moved up to Ireland a few years ago. Have been driving a Megane (!) for a while because it was reasonably cheap to insure with no NCB, but set out to find a better car a few months ago.

Unfortunately the Irish second hand cars market offers as many nice cars as the dark side of the Moon does - most people here only buy the dullest, blandest motors available and are absurdly biased against anything that's not either Japanese or coming from the VAG group.

Therefore, ask for advice about a car that is "nice to drive", and most will blurt out "Avensis" or "Skoda Octavia"

I was kind of determined not to get an Alfa Romeo - they are extremely rare here, very few garages know how to service them, plus everybody kind of disses them as "unreliable". I kinda tried to warm myself to the thought of driving an E90 3-Series.

I failed. Miserably.

So, with a bit of luck, the aforementioned 159 will be in my parking spot in a week or so
