First Alfa - 156 2.4 jtd 10v

Well, it is somewhat interesting that I find myself on this Forum! I have only owned Saabs / BMWs previously and was on the hunt for a(nother) e46 330d. When I chanced upon a 1 owner from new, incredibly shiny 156 jtd on ebay. Im not entirely sure why I was smitten, but smitten I was and so - without so much as ever having sat in an Alfa, I bid and won. And collected today!

Although I do think it is a pretty drab cabin and interior space is a bit down, I am impressed by three things in particular (especially compared to the Saabs / BMWs I have driven and owned): manual gear change: Better than both, steering: brilliant feel and handling: This is a diesel?? You really wouldnt know.

In terms of poke, I was also pleasantly surprised. My other car is a 370bhp estate but this 156 didn't really feel lacking at all. Less turbo lag than a 330d as well.

So - Am I addicted yet? Too early to tell. But if anyone is selling their 159 2.4 jtd be sure to let me know.

I am a very regular user of UKSAABS despite not owning one, I hope this place is as friendly

Anyway, here is what 743.43 gets you (with 6 months tax and test)

Welcome to AO & congrats on your 156

If you want any advice, info or help check out the Tech Lounge Alfa 147, 156 & GT - Alfa Romeo Forum

That looks like Proteo Red, there should be a label with the paint code & name on the inside of the boot lid.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

I haven't been able to take the car out for a spin (other than the initial 60 miles drive home) but have a 240 mile round trip at the weekend which should blow a few cobwebs away.

First stop, Angel Tuning I think - I assume I would be mad not to?
