2013 Giulietta

Thumbs Up Nineteen Alfas later...

I discovered with a bit of a shock that it's about 5 years, and 4-5 Alfas since I last visited this site. Currently have a month old Giulietta as day car and loving being back into a 6 sp manual after spending 10 months driving a very nice automatic bigger something else diesel that didn't actually set the pulse racing. So 19 or so Alfas since 1987 including some that I loved so much I bought them back - one a QV 164, the other a 164 that had one owner for 20 years.
First serious encounter was through an association with Alfa importer CEO - we swapped for a weekend my big Audi for his 75 3L V6 (just before 164 arrived). Found myself wondering why the traffic was going so slow down a motorway when I glanced down and saw I was doing nearly 190 kph! And on a twisty coastal road...well enough said. My new 164 arrived a few months later.
So my "fleet" (up to 3 at a time sometimes including hobby cars) has included 159's, 166, 164's inc 2 x QV's, 156 cars and sportwagons, 33, and 75's...and one of my favourites..a GT 3.2. The Giulietta reminds me a little of this because of its size and pocket rocket feel. People can't pigeon hole you when you own an Alfa - other than perceiving you're a petrol head and love driving or you're stupid.
I belong to AROC in NZ; have owned a number of other European marques...but keep coming back to Alfa. Current one should see me through to the 159 replacement. Enjoyed 159's but for limited rear space and awkward boot access. But great drivers...and beautiful to behold.

Welcome to AO

As you have a fleet I won't point out any particular places of interest on the forum, although the Technical lounges are always a good place to go

We do have some other NZ members who post regularly, so keep an eye open for them

Any problems, just use the Contact Us link to the top left of your screen and one of us will help as soon as we can
