Wave Feels Like I've ReBuilt My 156....:-)

Well, as the title suggests, since my first Alfa purchase in June 2005 my beloved '98 156 has spent a fair bit of time on the ramps.

* New Water Pump
* Replaced Cam with Pump
* 2 New Tyres
* New MAF
* New Pads - Front
* New Mid-box
* New Front Bulbs
* Re-fit skirts

That said, I've still got squeaky suspension up front, a front bumper that needs a crack repairing and a drivers door that needs a new hinge.

BUT. What a car. V6 loves fuel but the noise and looks from jealous BMW drivers more than make up for it.

I keep thinking about changing it but why. Why when a car that costs less than a 2001 Fiesta, makes such a din, looks the part and has less than 60,000 on the clock whisks me to work and back every morning. Such practical thoughts soon disappear, along with the majority of traffic in my rear view mirror !!

I always said if I was going to get a sporty family car, it'd have to be red. And everyone can see why.

SP3*(Alfa red + black leather)=

Well done on such a great forum and I look forward to getting more involved over time.

Sounds like a bit of an investment, but it also sounds like you are getting the returns in spades!!!

Righty - piccy's of the ol' mukka. Forgot in my list to add ;

New Master & Slave Cylinders (Still not cured 'notchy' clutch)
New Wipers
New Sump guard
... and a partridge in a pear tree.

I know it's not close to some of the horror stories about breaking belts but having had an Audi before the Alfa, I suppose anything's going to seem expensive ... 2 Cam changes in 9 months - am I being too cautious !!

That said - she looks great don't she....
