Wave Grottings from deepest Essex

Hello,

Just found this site and thought I'd join and introduce myself. I am the proud owner of a 147 JTD Lusso and have been for the past 2 years.

First Alfa I've ever bought and I will admit to a bit of concern over reliability, residuals and build quality but I have to say the car's been fairly bomb proof. Only problem was down to an accident repair (my wife's accident not mine ) where the replacement bumber shed its paint after about 10 months. I was told by the repairers (who sorted it under their warranty) that it was probably down to the batch of primer originally applied to the replacement front bumper.

To date I've covered 28000 miles without a hitch, I get over 53 mpg on a run and the only thing I occasionally notice is a bit of smoke from the exhaust under hard acceleration.

All in all I am well pleased.

Thanks, Alfagirl & Anfortas for your welcome. Unfortunately don't have any photos of the Alfa to hand but will get some taken next time I wash it.

Yo Skilaree and welcome to AO. Yahoo and yipee for someone who joins us without the addition of a moan about summit negative. Glad to hear your 147 is a goodun'.

Sorry AlfaJack but there has to be an upside to driving a diesel and that's it. On the other hand although you won't find yourself in the rear seats under acceleration it ain't no slouch either!!

and Diesals have bags and bags more torque at low rpm than a lot of other cars out there, not all about the bhp

Yep, a refreshing change. Most people only turn up here when they have a problem.

Welcome!
