I've just joined.
I have a 1998 Alfa 156 2.0 TS which I have owned from new when it was my company car.Its red with grey leather and has done 176k miles. It has never left me stranded and I still enjoy it as much as the day I picked it up from Mangoletsi.
I was told when I got it that I would have loads of problems but (apart from weeks off the road waiting for a replacement plenum chamber when new)it has been the model of reliability and has put the family's Subaru Legacy to shame.
The engine hardly uses any oil between services and the car tracks dead straight on motorways - all signs of a great car.
Only problem I now have is that I really should buy a "family car" to replace it but I cannot bring myself to p/x it as I worry about it getting in the "wrong hands" of someone who will neglect it and fail to care for it.I feel totally disloyal if I even think of letting it go and more or less love it like a faithful old dog.
The dilemma is that if i keep it and don't use it,that is another form of neglect.I therefore really need to find her a loving new home - similar to the Dogs Trust (they never put a healthy dog down!).
So, if anyone on this forum can provide a loving home for a much loved friend, please let me know ! Do you think I should keep it? Head v Heart etc!!
