Mooney Hello from sunny Spain!

A brief introduction: 34 yr old brit living in sunny southwest Spain. A passionate 'Alfisionado' who (as my nik suggests) is a total V6 junky! I just can't get enough of that Arese music score especially in 12 Valve form (and if it's in a GTV6 all the better). The 24V sounds better in the latest cars than in the 164 Super especially with the proper tail pipe and in 3.2 GTA guise! Depressed to see the 159 V6 looking so drab under the bonnet (I'd like a side order of plastic please ) but happy to know it sounds like an Alfa V6 should and the BHP figures look interesting too!

Friends with the Novitec importer in Spain who keeps me up to date on what that performance specialist is up to and I can't wait to see what they will get out of the 159 Q4.

Big question bugging me now is if the 159 GTA will have a Maser based V8 (same unit as in the F430)?

Anyone up for a game of Golf; CadiGolf.com does it for me!

Car ownership history:

Alfa 164 V6 24V Super
Alfa 164 3.0 V6
Alfa 164 3.0 V6 Lusso
Alfa GTV6
Alfa 33 1.5 ti
Alfetta GTV 2000
Alfa Sud 1.5 ti
Alfa Sud 1.3 ti

That's all for now folks!

164 V6 24v "Zender Alfa Sport"

Past glories: Sud 1.5ti, Alfetta GTV, GTV6, 33 1.5ti, 33 1.7ie, 164 3.0 V6, 164 3.0 V6, GTV 1.8TS, 156 1.6 TS, 159 2.4 JTDm QTronic.

I've been drving Alfa's since I was 17 living on the IOW. I have pictures of the 164's on my site and I posted a link in the gallery section: epadina.com

The list looks impressive but they've generally been rusting heaps in most cases with no money to do anything with them!!!!
The Alfa Sud 1.3ti was converted to a 1.5ti so you can count that as one!!!
The Alfetta had a good engine but I crashed it
The GTV6 was OK(ish) but the transmission ripped itself apart (that goddam live prop is a killer when not spinning properly).
I've got some fond memories shagging in the back of the 33 and I have pics of that somewhere (the car that is) which I'll dig out and scan.
The first 164 (3.0 V6) was fantastic but right hand drive in Spain was no good and residual value was such that I couldn't send it back to the UK so I used it for spares for number 2 164 but is now resting in a junk yard.
Number 2 164 (3.0 V6) currently has a seized piston ring but amazingly still runs (smokey as hell).
Number 3 164 (V6 24V) is by far my favourite Alfa but has needed some severe engine restoration and still has a dicky gearbox to be sorted. Plenty of pictures on my site.

I would like to keep this latest 164 and restore to concours condition but it's currently my daily car. I've got some QV spec intake runnners (45mm) coming soon which should give me 230 BHP which should be fun. The other 164 (12V) will either soon be parted out or converted into a track day monster, not sure yet!

Thanks all for the welcome messages!

Re: Hello from sunny Spain!

Hi mate, welcome on board.
Nice Alfa collection you had there.

I'm positive Autodelta will also do a fantastic work with the new 159 and Brera.

So I take it that's your company? If so 'fess up. If not, it seems a bit suspect to have had mention in more than one post.
