Got Me An Alfa

Hi everyone, I never thought the day would come when I would be an owner of an Alfa Romeo. It happened almost by accident; I was taking my daughter to buy a car when I noticed a GTV looking rather sorry for itself. After seeing my daughter OK I asked for a deal on the Alfa (the car dealer must have thought it was his lucky day, two cars in the space of half an hour). I got him down to a price that was right for me, plus a year's MOT. I am coming up to the age of retirement soon and with my time I intend to get my new (to me) GTV in first class nick. It needs some work doing to it but that was the idea behind buying it. My daughter thinks I'm crazy! "What do you want with a sports car at your time of life dad?" But with a make of car I have always liked and retirement coming my way at the same time, why not throw 'common sense' out of the window and do something I want to do.

I will be visiting this site and forums a lot now so i will probably get to know some of soon. In the meantime, have a happy new year and safe travelling.

Welcome to AO John

Very similar story to me, I was bitten by the GTV Alfa bug after the kids left home and there was just me and the Mrs, a two seater red Alfa was my dream car

Pop in here and say hello to the good folk of AO in your area, plenty of advice, meetings and friends to be made

Hi John, and Welcome. I've just joined AO and I never thought I'd ever get an Alfa either! but tomorrow I should be picking up my GTV. So it looks like we're on the same track. I hope it all goes well for you and I'll let you know What mines like when I finally get it home.

Regards Sigy
