Dad replied - Dont waste your money on a Alfa son, there rubbish!!
Hiya, Im a new member, going through a mid life crisis hence the Alfa purchase
My old car gave up the ghost the same day the world was supposed to end -21/12/12
I bought a Alfa Romeo156 swagon last Saturday after lots of research & ignoring advice from others.
Family, friends & work colleagues laughed when I reported my intensions, the wife slept on the sofa in protest.
'Oh why' they said 'Alfa's are always braking down - you will never have any money'
The Sat and Sun there was praise abundant, 'What a car!' the chorus thronged. I was given the name 'Romeo' by one of the patients.
However, it was a black day this morning when the RAC came to my rescue in the works carpark I might add.
I had a flat tyre and the wheelbrace split on the first attempt at undoing the wheelnuts.
The RAC man faired no better, after an hour toil even with his meter long bar he had x2 sheared snap-on sockets to show for his efforts, his opinion being - the previous owner had used a lorry type air hammer to tighten up the nuts.
Of course he denied this doing saying he tightened by hand - I know who I believe watching the RAC man like a barbarian weilding that bar, actually moving the wheel with all the weight of the car on it!!
The poorly car goes in tomorrow with 5 seized nuts to remove, then with a bit of luck I can enjoy driving it again
