After years of interest in the marque, I've finally taken the plunge into Alfa ownership by acquiring a 1998 156 1.8TS.
It's been well maintained, though is not without its faults, as to be expected in any car of its age.
For now though, it seems that the puddle on the back seat has been cured by pulling out the non-return valve on the sunroof drain.
Next job is to cure the cool running issue - temp gauge struggles to pass 50 on the motorway so assume this is a faulty thermostat.
Lastly, I need to look at getting the airbag light reset (though with 7 months left on the MOT its not urgent). I'll check under the seats for any loose connections - and the forum for any further suggestions
Other than that there appears (for now!) to be no other problems. The car drives great, has loads of service history and all for the princely sum of £350.
Would love to add a Sud TI and a late 60's 1750GTV but would need a winning lottery ticket and a decent-sized garage!
