Newbie with 147 imminent

Im Ben from Barrowford near Burnley, wanted to introduce myself.
just put a deposit on silver 3 door 147 JTD 16v, 53 plate, pickin it up once my re-mortgage has completed (hopefully beginning of next week)
used to have a 2.5 Z4 and then focus RS, for playing! however new job in Leeds has persuaded me towards economy. hopefully won't be dissappointed though.
I have been reading for a bit and am tempted towards ecu chip/remap, to try and get somewhere close to my past vehicles, what do people reckon?
is there anybody else from around my neck of the woods on here?

Welcome to AO

Congratulations on your purchase

I have heard some good things about chipping the JTD. I think there are a couple of current threads on that subject here on AO (try the search function).

Oh, and don't forget to post lots of piccies of your new car when you get it

Re: Newbie with 147 imminent

congratulations on your purchase and welcome to alfa owner, been here a few months myself now and have to say this is the best car forum I have been involved in.

I have no first hand experience of the alfa diesels but hear nothing but praise for them, in both performance and economy. So I think you have made a great choice.

Happy motoring
Adam
