Just bought Brera 2.4jtdm

Picking up next Monday 2006 Brera 2.4jtdm SV in misano metalic blue with 18in alloys with 53000 on the clock.
Had a Alfasud 1.5ti in bright yellow back in the late 70's early 80's which replaced a series of Mini Cooper S's so not completely new to Alfa's.
This will be a 3rd car with my daily driver being a Ford Ranger pickup and my wife having a Renualtsport Megane 225 which she has had for nearly 7 years and which is great fun to drive although the electrics have been a bit problematic.
After reading through this forum have got the Brera booked into AHM for the Monday after next for a remap and DPF removal.
Have also bought some BG244 diesel fuel cleaner and blue paint and am going to have a go at painting the brake calipers.
Hoping to get along to a few meets so will maybe see some of you along the way,

Have now picked up the Brera, (got it last Saturday as could not wait till Monday), first impressions after having done a bit of A road and motorway driving are that it goes quite a bit better that I expected and although not as quick as the Megane 225 it seems to pull really well and feels very solid.
When we picked it up I drove the Megane and my wife drove the Brera with her following me. When we got on a bit of dual carriageway I put my foot down and expected to see the Brera disappear in the rear view mirror but although the Megane was always pulling away I was surprised at how well the Brera kept up and I must say looked awesome in the rear view mirror. Loving the fact that nobody seems to know what it is (have bought a Kenwood double din media centre for it and when I took it into my local ICE centre for them to give me a quote for fitting it (being fitted Friday after next) created quite a bit of interest as no one had seen one before.
Have spent most of this week polishing and waxing it and will be using it this weekend for a trip up to Buckingham on Saturday and then on up to Mallory Park on Sunday for the racing and then down to AHM on Monday for the remap and DPF removal.
Will be interesting to see the difference this makes on the way home. Had the Megane done when we first got it by RS Tuning and nearly 7 years on have been very pleased with no problems at all apart from electrics in over 50000 miles.
Have also ordered a new bonnet badge as the original was discoloured and will be fitting this and having a go at painting the brake callipers the following weekend.

Brera 2.4

How you getting on with the Brera following your DPF removal and remap. Any negatives that you can tell? I recently bought a 2.4 Brera and still considering doing that but car seems to be running fine at the moment.
