All I can offer is general advice on car purchases.
Does it have service history? With Cambelt changes done regularly, oil/filter changes done on time, a book full of history showing that somebody cared any car will go on for WELL in excess of 100k miles.
If you get the feeling that there was neglect in the past, walk away. There are loads of good Alfas out there and before buying trawl through the threads here, look for the common faults, read the buyers guide on here and then beat them down on price and drive away into the sunset.
Remember, most cars are sold because they have a problem. However this can sometimes be a small problem that broke the camels back.
