Firstly hi! Im based in Nottingham, and heres my problem ...... lol
Ive been looking for my first Alfa, looking mainly at the 159 or GT !!
Here comes the issues .... i cant find one at the right price and right age and right colour with good history, there has been some good ones but all seem to miss boxes!
I'd prefer a diesel due to the economy rates over the petrol i just cant find what i want ..... now there is 2 i have found.....
Pertol - GT Blackline 1.8 on a 57 plate 70k on the clock in pretty good condition, just needs a good clean and alloys re doing
Deisel - 159 2.4 beautiful all over good history on a 56 plate 73k on the clock but cambelt needs doing
The petrol is well inside my budget but not sure whether i should get a petrol with only 25ish miles per gallon and most my driving being town driving, more on tax and insurance a lot more than diesel and not as much poke and thrust lol
The diesel is just about perfect but been told im looking at £900+ for the cam to be done but with this being the top of my budget i'd struggle to afford that for a while
Any ideas are petrols actually as bad on fuel as the book says? can i get a cam cheaper for the diesel ? should i forget both and keep looking ?
HELP lol my heads spinning with it all !! Im sure of 1 think .. I WANT MY FIRST ALFA !!
