The Jtd option is a good one... again have issues to look out for, so do the research
cambelt / waterpump / inlet manifold / EGR etc...
Apparently "the hesitation is just a Characteristic of the car" & some people just live with it, some don't notice it, some demand for it to be fixed.
I didn't notice the hesitation until I read about it & its not really that bad. Just for Alfa owners we want and expect perfection
and for the car to drive as good as it looks.
I changed exhaust backboxes to Prodrive one's, pipercross filter and I run IT on 97 or 99 ron fuel and it's so much better. It's transformed the car.
Remapping is also an option that will cure.
Steering rack - you want to check it has green fluid in & not red, and cam-chain can stretch leaving timing issues, search the forum... Not all the 2.2's are are affected.
Both the cars your looking at look great!! It's a tough choice...
