New GTV owner - why are they so cheap!?

Hi everyone!

Just picked up a phase 2 GTV TS Lusso, did a part-ex on my old MX5 with cash my way and so far not regretting a thing (touch wood!) and I really don't understand why they are so cheap?

The interior is plush, engines beautiful, car looks fantastic...all that for less than a knackered old Punto or Saxo?

I understand they can be a bit to maintain but mines had the cambelt etc. done recently and the rear suspension sorted out not too long ago so is there really that much else I should be losing sleep over besides keeping an eye on the oil level?

I keep seeing threads with people paying big bills...are their any good independant garages that specialise in Alfa Romeo's in the Hampshire area?

Alfa's tend to have a really bad depriciation in the UK.
This is mainly down to peoples perceptions of the brand as being unreliable. Everyone likes them. The looks the tech the engines and sounds. But everyone is put off by the reliability record from the past.

Hence a cheap used buy thats usually over looked.
Best bit about it though is that you car get alot of car for your money.

Also the running costs, tax and generaly maintenace is quite a bit higher than most cars. That coupled with a dealership back up thats one of the worst in the UK means cheap cars.

But don't let anyone into the knowledge that if maintained well they are actually more reliable than some modern cars on the market.

Don't tell the muggles the secret.

Great little cars are GTV's. Sounds like you got a good deal

Feel free to pop it in for a Saturday Surgery if you are nearer my end of Hampshire, it's completely free.
