147 16v M-Jet

Hi from a chuffed 147 owner

Hi everyone, I just bought myself a 54 plate 147 JTD 16v M-jet Lusso yesterday. I got it for a song as it has been sat since October without turning a wheel and has some fault codes showing up on the dash (VDC, EBD and ABS) along with a bit of rust at the top of the windscreen. from the searching I have done so far I think it could be just the battery as the owner had to charge the battery to get the car started and it was then the faults came up but he said he had taken it to the garage down the road and been told it was an abs sensor.

Hopefully I will get a chance to have a good look threw the week but I have ordered a diag cable of eBay anyway and I will do some more reading on here in the mean time.

Anyway a bit about me, I’m 39 and work as an electrical and mechanical maintenance manager but have done a load of different jobs including a spell as a fork lift truck mechanic. I have had a good few cars my favorite so far probably being my Fiat Coupe and the worst being a metro automatic I got from a pall for £50 after a Jag wrote off my Coupe. I haven’t rated the Alfa yet as it’s a bit early to say but its impressing me so far.

I have a workshop which I share with a couple of mates which you could squeeze six cars into but at the moment it has a couple of Land Rover Discoveries in it in bits getting welded up. We have a two post ramp to fit in once the Disco’s are out the way and just about any tool you could want.

I have also been making biodiesel for five years now and have done thousands of miles in various different cars with indirect injection, direct injection an common rail engines without any trouble apart from a couple of blocked filters.

But enough of that here’s a picture.
