Hi - new Alfa owner here!

I've recently bought an '01 147 2.0 TS Selespeed ... great to drive (but I've been scaring myself reading the selespeed problems in the tech forum!!! ). Anyway I thought I'd introduce myself here. I'm John (you may have guessed) and Red is the hair not (necessarily) the politics!

Hi John,
Welcome to the site. I shouldn't worry, I know plenty of people with Selespeed who have never had a problem.

Hi and welcome just make sure your selespeed oil level is correct, that's most of the battle won its on the passenger side inner wing under the bonnet and ALWAYS use proper selespeed oil from a specialist or dealer.
No matter what any other garage says always use genuine oil

Hope to see years of driving your 147

Hi John, i had the 147 2.0 Lusso selespeed from new for 5 years. I did have a problem with the paddle shift after 4 years, but replaced the battery and was just fine, oh, also changed the selespeed oil as stated above.
