Yet another mid-life crisis
Today I picked up a 1996 Spider that I won on eBay somewhat unexpectedly. I live just outside London, the car was in mid Cornwall. Didn't exactly pay a lot for it though, so I was up for a gamble.
Just driven home. Major issues... I had to reset the clock (so that's not a black LED in the dash next to it!!!) and then it took me for ever, with a torch in the end, to work out where the boot release switch was. Nice! Other than that, fantastic.
I've had a succession of Porsche 924 turbo/924S/944 over the past ten years or so and fancied a change. I wasn't expecting handling like this. My last Alfa was a brand new Sud Cloverleaf (yes, I'm ancient) and that taught me all about residual values, and rust. Never thought I'd be tempted again ;-)
Love the Spider. Yes I know it's going to play up and all the electrics will melt and the rest, but heck, it has spirit.
I shall be making some tasteful improvements (the interior is less than startling!) and will attempt to chronicle here.
Many thanks to those whose contributions I've already scanned - you didn't put me off buying one!!!
