New (old) GTV owner

I am a very happy man, I have just traded my modern car (Integrale) for a 2000GTV (74), and I'm loving every minute of it, a proper classic
The grale had to go as it had sullied my otherwise pristine driving record once, and it was only going to happen again...I was still sad to see it go though.
The GTV is lovely, as solid as a rock underneath, could use a bit of paint, but as it will be used rather than shown I can live with that. I've allready used it once to take me to work Oxford, so if you spot a red 200GTV on the M25 early one morning it may be me.

Re: New (old) GTV owner

Welcome to AO

I love the old Berties - pics please!!!!

So, you are going to use the GTV as your daily runner, from the south coast to Oxford????

For my last job, I was commuting between Portsmouth to Oxford - it's a 170-mile round trip!! And you are going to be doing it every day! In a 30-year old car!!! You must be mad!!!!

Anyway, good luck with that, and stick around.

Re: New (old) GTV owner

I do two days a week in London, so thats a train journey, but the rest of the time I'm in Oxford, but I stay there ovenight, so it's not a daily commmute, just once up there, some local milage whilst there, then once back. Allready used the Alfa for last weeks trip, it goes well on the motorways, no major problems so far, the washer pump is a bit poor, but everything else works well.
Obviously I've put new tyres on all round and given her a full service, we'll see how she copes, but I'm a firm beliver in using cars.
