I bought a 2007 1.9 JTDM GT with 60k on the clock last week to replace a Ford Focus 1.8. So far I'm very pleased with the car, my immediate impresion was that it fitted well and drove well, and made the Focus feel more like driving a truck!
I think it's the only time in my 40 years of car ownership that I bought without a test drive. It was love at first sight for both me and my wife. The history and HPI was good and it comes with a 3000 mile/1 month warranty. Fortunately everything seems to be OK apart from a knocking from the front shocks when they hit bumps in the road - the dealer is going to attend to this on tomorrow - wishbone bushes?
This is my second italian machine - the first was a moto guzzi in 1980 that was great until the year's warranty from new exired then the exhausts rotted through in the 13th month, the gear box exploded and finally it siezed. It's taken awhile to forgive but I believ Alfa have much better quality control than Guzzi had in the 80s.........
After that I'm having a Parrot 9200 installed, and after seeing someone post a picture of the screen sitting wher the ash tray presently resides, that's where mine is going to go!
This is a great forum and I've learnt a lot already. As soon as the warranty expires I'm going to get the cambelt & waterpump replaced ahead of schedule, then hopefully just enjoy the motor!
