Thumbs Up Greetings from Southampton

Hi! Chris here.....

Decided to finally join after many guest visits.

I've had a few Italian cars. First a Lancia Delta HF Turbo, then an Integrale Evolution , which I eventually sold due to one too many 1,000 service bills and my own dire financial circumstances.

Sold the Integrale and bought an M reg Escort instead for 'cheap motoring' and became instantly clinically depressed until I saw a beautiful shiny metallic yellow 145 cloverleaf for sale a few months later on the Autotrader web site. The money left my account faster than my non-italian car driving friends could say "don'tforgoddsakebuyanotherdodgyitalianmotor"!

Of course it has not been totally reliable, so I look to this place to be my friendly refuge when it all becomes too much, my (so-called) friends are saying 'I told you so' and I'm seriously considering selling it and getting something 'reliable' .......

Cheers!

Welcome NokoChris.

Alfa's are more than just about reliability anyway. When were your mates last truly moved when they drove their cars, eh?

Welcome to the AO, Chris. Enjoy your time here. And, if possible, post some pics of your Alfa.

Re: Greetings from Southampton

Haven't got any pictures at the moment, sorry! Anyway it's pretty minging (make that very minging) at the moment so I'll have to clean it first.....

Was going to do that at the weekend, but now have to spend Saturday watching Southampton play our sworn enemy Pompey which, based on recent performances, could be a couple of hours of torture

then spend Sunday dismantling the dashboard due to recent heater control failure .

These two events combined may mean I lose the will to live and am eventually found on my driveway a gibbering mess surrounded by bits of broken dashboard (It pays to be optimistic I think ).
