Lick New member, from suburbia...

Hi, I'm Lips, and I enjoy knitting, baking and flower-arranging. I don't know much about cars, but I do like jolly red ones. I'd like to stay and talk, but I have to go and warm my husband's carpet slippers before he gets back from work. Cheerio!

Hello kiddies! Missed y'all lots. Big hugs and stuff all round...

- Lips x

Re: New member, from suburbia...

Lips,

It's about time you showed up here again. We've been a bit light on the distaff side of things lately, and we definitely need a bit of balance.

Seriously, stick around and keep visiting. You've been missed.

Well, I plan to...

I'm having an enforced 'holiday' from work in the near future, and I'll only be hanging 'round the house all day, so I guess I'll be a more regular visitor.

Or I could actually take up knitting...

What says you, TS?

Hi Hugs, how've you been, matey?

Are you still getting into trouble with your camera?

I just won a digital camera in a photography competition recently - a Sony DSCP93, which I understand is pretty good. It's my first digital camera, and I'm waiting for the DHL guy to ferry it to me any day now.

I might be forced to put it to good use by taking some pictures of my, ahem, new car....

Didn't I mention I was getting a new car...? Let the questions commence....

Re: New member, from suburbia...

Lips,

I'm sorry to hear about your employment situation.

I guess you can always take up knitting. It's supposed to be trendy right now. "Stitch and *****" cafés (where you can sit down and have a coffee in the same place you buy your wool and needles) are starting to open up all over the city. Plus it's become the "in" hobby for celebrities like Julia Roberts, Madonna, Iman, Hilary Swank, Cameron Diaz, Daryl Hannah, Goldie Hawn, Eartha Kitt, Winona Ryder, Julianne Moore, Rose McGowan, Courtney Thorne-Smith, Kate Moss, Madeline Albright, Vanna White, Megan Mullaly, Sarah Jessica Parker, Joanne Woodward, Russell Crowe, Bob Mackie, Stu Bloomberg, and Rosie Grier ( yes I know not all of the previously mentioned names are "real" celebrities ), but personally I find celebrity endorsements a good reason to avoid things. Still if you're really keen on this new pursuit, here is Julia Robert's sweater pattern. Hope that helps.

Congratulations on winning the camera. How about sharing the winning photo with us?

I've been around, Marg. Sometimes good , other times bad... first, a problem with my job, them my Godfather passed away, then the problem with work again...

My camera is working fine, thank you! But not many troubles this days. I want a new one, the Canon 20D. I want to do go up and do more pro works.

Congrats with you price! Now you can send a lot of pics!

I believe you haven't seen my website! Yes, Alfaspirit is online and kicking! ( www.alfaspirit.com )

Hugs from Hugo

Re: New member, from suburbia...

Lips,

Normally I would be more than delighted to play the guess-what-car-I-bought game, but since you live outside of my area of the world and get all sorts of cars that I've never seen before, it makes the game a bit pointless. I mean I can guess Mercury Grand Marquis or Chrysler 300M, but I doubt you even get them. You've probably got some Citreon Lemony Lime or Rover Fido or some other thing that sounds like a play toy to me.

Are there other bits of juicy information that we're supposed to ferret out? If so, just point us in the general direction -- lovelife, personal, family, etc. At least I'd have a fighting chance then.

Actually, we are getting that one!
It got slated by Top Gear last week. Said it looks fantastic, very imposing, but is terrible to drive.

Lips - It's been AGES, welcome back to your true home, amongst the rest of us nutters.

I'm (jealously) guessing that you're getting a GT.

Oh, and I have the Sony DSCP73, and really like it. Hugo wouldn't, as it doesn't have enopugh bells and whistles but as point and click cameras go, they're very good, the results are generally fantastic, some of the pictures from my honeymoon are really impressive.
I can't remember what advantage yours has over mine (apart from a better photographer behind it ) either it's 5x zoom instead of 3x, or 5MP instead of 3.2 (or both). Either way, you should get even better results.
