Wave MY FIRST SPIDER, "what have I got myself into?"

Hi! I live in San Diego area, and I am new to the club. I have done minor work on Alfas, but this my first venture into ownership. I am an old Gearhead who loves European cars. VW's, Saab, BMW, Merced. and the Britt's stuff. I already have tech questions to ask. I am retired. My '87 Spider gives me something to do, but the $ is tight. I have found IAP already, and ordere new Guibo. Thank the Gods for the Tech section. Already found my first no-no. If anybody is in the area please let me hear from you. Thank you, tailspintommy1

Thanks! Photos later! It has, as far as I know, been regrestered in California. Has a few dents on Passanger side. Solid and zero rust, but needs a little Mechanical work. I just replaced Guigo, but did not replace the center Support & bearing. I need to take the front shaft out again and take it to a shop to have the bearing, support & flange pressed off and new parts back on. I have a very minor thump-thump starting off. I can be careful in first gear, and it will not thump. It seems to be a constent problem with a lot of Alfas. It is a little annoying. I can not be sure this will fix it. I have a lot to learn.
