Aspiring alfa owner..

I've recently decided that I want to get a Spider (105/115 series) for next summer but want to read up on it beforehand.

Aside from reading the Wikipedia article I'm not that really sure where to begin. I'd like to know which models are the good ones to get hold of (for example i've heard the 2l engines are more reliable?) but I'm unsure of the differences between the different series.

In addition, the potential pitfalls of ownership, common problems with Spiders, what to look out for when buying one and any other information of relevance would be greatly appreciated! Any information pertinent to RHD models/RHD conversion would also be especially useful as I will be driving this in the UK.

The one I like the most is the 1st gen boat-tail but I'm guessing these are the most desirable, hardest to get hold of in good condition and most expensive. I reality I expect a newer model would probably be more practical and easier to maintain but I can only speculate.

If you could point me towards any threads or offer any information directly I would greatly appreciate it.

Many thanks,
