Newbie from devon

Hi i once had a 2001 alfa 156 sports wagon really good car but sold it and bought a 4x4 did i regret it as soon as i left the garage.
But i sold the 4x4 and last saturday went out and bought a 156 v6 1989 127,000 miles on the clock the bodywork and interior are like new really good grey outside and green inside 12 months mot and taxed until october. No service history which i am a bit worried about they said the cambelt was changed last year but no proof the only thing i can find is a slight oil leak from the off side and the engine seems to go really well i cant believe how fast it is.
I think i will have it serviced in the next couple of weeks im not using it every day as i use my van for work if anybody knows a good garage to go to around the exeter cullompton area could they please let me know.
Thanks Polly

Hi Polly,

These links may help if you've not found them already. (alfa specialists in the SW)

It sounds like Jay W the area coordinator for AOSW knows someone in Exeter.

I've driven a new 156 V6, it was a very nice car but didn't get the opportunity to really stretch it. The direct streering made dodging a mid corner pothole a doddle.

There's a few threads here about V6 cambelts and tensioners failing so you're right to be concerned if you don't know when it was last done.
