Proud new owner of a 01 156, but...

Hi guys,

Im a total noob to Alfas but always thought they are lovely motors and decided to take the plunge and bought a 01 156 82k on the clock just passed nct the day before i got it. took the car for two test drives on separate occasions, only on minor roads though.. car was at first sight, lol. Then got her on the open road and started having vibrations on the steering wheel above 60-65 mph, got the wheels balanced problem solved, great.... no not really the next day dreaded engine light came on and she started to get very sluggish from taking off from being stopped in traffic or say when going up a hill and this came with a loud ticking/ popping noise, took in for a diagnostic next day (P0304) the light was still on but the problem had vanished, so they reset the light all was good until two days later and problem came back engine flashing and staying on, tick tick from the engine, sluggish behavior, then after that i filled her up and used some injector cleaning fluid and grand for two weeks still never felt like i was getting 100% but at least there was no tick tick tick from the engine and no sluggishness, but now its back with a bang.. or should i say a tick lol, i know its an engine misfire but was told by the garage that unless the issue is happening right at the time they hook her up to the diag they cant tell exactly whats wrong just that its cylinder 4 having problems... i dont want to be paying a fortune for parts only to find out that actually it was something different than the part they recommend, has any one any ideas?
