My name is Bernardo and I'm from Portugal (Lisbon area).
After having driven many Alfas (my first gasoline engine was in an Alfa 2000 Berlina that my father had back in the 80's) I finally decided to take the big step and got myself one of the most reliable Alfas one can buy: the 156 Selespeed...
To be honest this wasn't my first choice, I actually wanted a 2.5 v6 but couldn't get it so I decided to go for a 2 litre and this one was pretty much the only one available at the time.
After buying the car on a saturday the cam belt blew on sunday afternoon and left me stranded on this really nice mountain road! This was about four weeks ago. I picked up the car last friday and the engine is as good as new! (new belts, water pump, tensioners, thermostat, all 16 valves, oil, filter, ect...)
Now I have to address the selespeed mechanism and replace the pressure accumulator. But that's another story that I will share with you on the appropriate thread.
Well that's about it, as far as introduction! Hope to talk to all of you on the board!
